Carruthers' Cup

George was a member of the Organising Committees of the 1938 Sydney British Empire (Commonwealth) Games and the 1958 Melbourne Olympic Games.
George's interests were many and varied - Alderman Rockdale Council; board member of St George County Council, Cumberland County Council, St George Hospital, St George Medical Sports Clinic, and St Rowing Club - to name a few.
George was awarded:
George died on September 7, 1999 aged 89. He was an old-fashioned "gentleman", at all times courteous and helpful.
