Could all St George registered athletes who are available for teams selection for the NSW Cross Country Relay Championship to be held at Miranda Park on 2 June 2012 please add your name to the list on the notice board at Scarborough Park or advise Jim Owens by email (distance_secretary@sgdac.org) as soon as possible.

Found at Scarborough Park today following the NSW Novice Championship events were a pair of running spikes and a running shirt. To claim these items please contact Kim Delaney on track_secretary@sgdac.org or 9597-7670. Please provide an accurate description of the lost items to prove ownership.

21/4/12 - New Club Record

Congratulations to Bridey Delaney who has broken the long-standing Open Women's Club Record for 1 Mile with her 5th place finish at the Mt Sac Relays in California, USA. Bridey's time of 4:34.14 breaks the previous record of 4:46.70 that was set by Barbara Mrakovcic on 10 January 1988. St George Results

 

15/4/12 - Australian Track & Field Championships

Congratulations to Bridey Delaney for winning the silver medal in the Women's 1500m event and to Nicole Harris for winning the bronze medal in the Women's Ambulant Shot Put in Melbourne.

 

15/4/12 - ITU Sydney Olympic Distance Triathlon

Congratulations to Michael Murphy for winning the Age Group Race at the Sydney ITU World Championship Triathlon Series.

 

13/4/12 - Australian Track & Field Championships

Congratulations to Belinda Martin for winning the bronze medal in the Women's 5000m event in Melbourne.

25/3/12 - NSW Mountain Running Championship
Congratulations to Aaron Gentle for winning the Men's U16 gold medal at the NSW Mountain Running Championship that was held in conjunction with the Great Volcanic Mountain Challenge in Orange.
 

24/3/12 - Little Athletics Association New South Wales State Titles
Congratulations to Grace Robinson who set a new LAANSW U13 State Record and broke her existing U14 Club Record for 3kg Discus Throw with her winning throw of 14.95m. The previous LAANSW U13 State Record was 14.23m and was set by Taylah Sengul of Winston Hills on 22/02/2009. The previous U14 Club Record of 13.00m was set by Grace on 22/10/11.
 

19/3/12 - Australian Junior Champions
Congratulations to the following athletes who represented St George with honour at the Australian Junior Track & Field Championships held at SOPAC. Australian Junior Champions Grace Robinson (Women's U15 Discus Throw & Women's U15 Shot Put), Pita Toamotu (Men's U14 Discus Throw & 2nd Men's U14 Shot Put) and Matthew Rees (Men's U16 Javelin Throw). Congratulations also to Matilda Werner, Mitchell Pepper, Brandon Nairn, Nathan Breen, Mikeelie Jeefs and Tania Minutolo.

Congratulations to Matthew Rees who has broken his existing U16 Club Record for Javelin Throw with his Australian Junior Championship winning throw of 56.21m. The previous record was 49.71m set by Matthew on 11/2/2012.

Congratulations to Pita Toamotu who has broken his existing U14 Club Record for Shot Put with his Australian Junior Championship Silver Medal winning throw of 15.46m. The previous record was 15.29m set by Pita on 12/2/2012.

 

6/3/12 - Olympic Games Nomination
Congratulations to Ben St Lawrence for gaining a discretionary nomination to the Australian Olympic Committee to represent Australia at the upcoming London Olympic Games in the 10,000m event.

12/2/12 - New Club Records

Grace Robinson has set a new U16 Club Record, Meeting Record and U16 State Record with her throw of 14.26m in the Women's U16 Shot Put at the NSW Junior Championships. The previous club record of 12.24m was set by Alice Iosefo on 20/10/2007. The previous State record of 13.93m was set in 2004 by Viki Lolo and equalled by Dani Samuels.

 

Pita Toamotu has set a new U14 Club Record with his throw of 15.29m in the Men's U14 Shot Put at the NSW Junior Championships. The previous club record of 14.16m was set by A. Noisier on 6/1/1984.

 

Matthew Rees has set a new U16 Club Record with his throw of 49.71m in the Men's U16 Javelin Throw at the NSW Junior Championshps. The previous club record of 48.13m was set by Isaq Ali on 1/1/2001.

 

12/2/12 - Winter Cross Country Officials Needed

The club needs volunteers to act as officials during the coming cross country season. Duties include handicap starting, time keeping, finish line recording and course marshalling. If you are able to assist, please contact Jim Owens (distance_secretary@sgdac.org).

 

12/2/12 - SGDAC Training Sessions

Prepare for the coming cross country season and Novice Championship with guided training sessions at Scarborough Park. Jim Owens will coach any interested club members from 4.30pm to 6.00pm on Thursday afternoon, commencing from 16 February. Activities will include stretching, fartlek and reps up to 1km depending on ability. Contact Jim Owens (distance_secretary@sgdac.org).
